Young Adults Social Communication and Life Skills Groups

Our Young Adults Groups support adolescents and young adults as they transition from school into further education, employment and greater independence.

These groups focus on developing practical communication, social and everyday living skills to support meaningful participation in the community and preparation for life beyond school.

Areas of focus include:

  • Preparing for the transition from school to employment or further education.
  • Exploring career interests and employment opportunities.
  • Developing job-seeking skills, including resume preparation and interview practice.
  • Building workplace communication and understanding workplace expectations.
  • Developing functional literacy, organisation and executive functioning skills.
  • Building confidence in social interactions, friendships and relationships.
  • Developing self-advocacy, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Supporting independence in everyday activities and community participation.

Our programs incorporate individualised speech pathology goals into practical, age-appropriate activities that reflect participants' interests, abilities and future aspirations.
