Saturday Social Communication Groups

Our Saturday Social Communication Groups provide a supportive and inclusive environment for children ages 5-8 to develop meaningful friendships, build confidence and practise functional communication skills through structured activities, games and peer interactions.

Our groups focus on:

  • Developing friendships and meaningful peer connections.
  • Initiating and maintaining conversations and social interactions.
  • Developing receptive and expressive language skills.
  • Turn-taking, waiting, sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Understanding and expressing emotions, needs and preferences.
  • Building self-advocacy, confidence and independence.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social participation.

Our groups welcome participants with diverse communication profiles, including individuals who communicate using speech, gestures and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Each participant works towards individualised communication and social participation goals, with therapy embedded into meaningful group activities.
